So, when I was fourteen, in the midst of spitting out about a story a night, one of the stories I wrote was a little something-something called “The Heretic.” It’s short, just over a thousand words, and I filed it away with the rest of my juvenilia when I reviewed my older stuff back in 2011. Then the call came out, a call for submissions for a new anthology, and I knew exactly what story to send.
